Import speed

Import WP Addon - WooCommerce Updated 2 years ago 7 Replies

Dave asked 2 years ago on March 26, 2023 at 6:31 pm

I am having issues with the time that it takes to import my products.

It is currently taking me about 5 minutes to import 25 products.

My web host  is telling me that there is nothing wrong on the server or database backend, and to check with the plugin providers.

Thank you.

Hi Dave,

Are you able to export and attach your importer settings to this ticket by going to Tools > Import WP > Settings / Tools > Import / Export and select and export your importer as a JSON file.

And attach a copy of your csv/xml file being imported so that i can see what may be causing speed issues?

Running the importer on that test site, it imported 25 products in 27 seconds including 25 images.

On which site did you run this?

What would you suggest is the issue? Or how can I fix this issue?

And can you share the server specs, or any other information about the site that can help me to compare? Thanks again.

That server was one of the smallests Digital Ocean droplets, 1GB cpu.

There are many factors that can cause a webste to slow down, you can mainly notice it when browsing the wp-admin area page loads take a while, this can be caused by using many plugins, the more you add to a site the more complex the code ends up being and slower to run.
