Not able to import 2 pages with same name.

Hi,

I am importing pages with the following structure

USA
– Population
– Cities

Canada
– Population
– Cities

Where USA and Canada are the parents and Population and Cities their respective child.

Problem is that Population and Cities are getting added only once under Canada and not getting added under USA. Might be because of duplicate name. How can I do the same while importing Pages. Its a must… So kindly help.

Hi,

By default wordpress posts/pages and other custom post types use the ID, post_name/slug, or title to uniquely identify each record, so it knows if it should update or insert a new record.

To allow multiple records using the same name, i would recommend adding a custom field with a value that can be used to identify each record for example a custom field _import_ref, then on the permissions step you would enter the _import_ref as the unique identifier.
