I’m uploading a BLM file into my Website using your Import WP Pro version of the plugin but whichever method I use to upload the file, either it’s a .zip folder or only .blm file it keeps on processing the file and throws an error after a while. Can you fix that?

Hi Sheheryar,

Can you confirm that you have the following plugin installed and activated: https://www.importwp.com/integrations/blm-file-importer/ , if you do and this still does not work can you please attach the blm file to this ticket, or send it via a service such as wetransfer to importwp@jclabs.co.uk

Thanks,

I have tested this locally and found that the EOR character "|" was causing issues which have now been fixed in v0.0.2 of the plugin that can be downloaded from here: https://www.importwp.com/integrations/blm-file-importer/ , or i have attached the version.

Sure, can you attach the zip file or send a link to it so i can see what you have and how it is structured to help you out.

If you can install and activate the attached version of the importer, this allows for blm files to be found in a zip file (change will be deployed in the next plugin update).

When creating an importer, on the select file tab enter the path of the zip file as the local file, this will read the blm file from inside the zip.

Then on the "template fields" step, for example accessing the images from within the zip file you would select the columns by clicking on them, selecting multiple by joining with a comma.

{MEDIA_IMAGE_00},{MEDIA_IMAGE_01},{MEDIA_IMAGE_02}

Then click on the show settings, changing download to Local Filesystem, and setting the base url to: iwp_zip

Screenshots attached for each step.

Thank you for the assistance. The images are imported correctly but they are not visible on the custom post type I created for properties

This is the link: https://michaeljonesandco.com/properties/bruce-street-cathays-cardiff/

Please let me know that how can I properly show all the details which includes images, 360 virtual tour features and all the other available details on a single page just like how a property should be visible on a real estate website?

Thanks

Hi,

What i would recommend doing, is creating a demo property via the WP-Admin area for the post type that you want to populate, then fill in the information such as images and text / data.

The in the custom fields section of the importer, use the find custom field button and select the previously created demo property, Looking through its custom fields to see what fields need to be populated. (https://www.importwp.com/docs/how-to-import-wordpress-custom-fields/#find-existing-custom-fields)

Then use this data to import the correct data into the custom fields.

If you need help please screenshot the list of custom fields in the viewer.

Thanks

So what you say is I have to create a complete demo property with a display structure that I want it visually with all the details present in the blm file and the make the import using the plugin selecting that post type or page as a template?

J

James replied Support Agent

Yes, create a demo property,

Then view what custom fields have been set and import the correct data into each.

I did as you've written above but seems like the layout is not being imported even after selecting all those custom fields in find custom fields button. The layout of the demo page and imported is totally different

https://michaeljonesandco.com/demo-property-2/ (Demo Property)

https://michaeljonesandco.com/manor-street-heath-cardiff/ (Real Import)

Mind you the images are imported into media library but they are nowhere to be seen on the page. All the field I did select in the screenshot attached,

Are you able to take a screenshot of all the custom fields found in teh custom field viewer, and also take a screenshot of all the entire templates field screen so i can see what you have setup and what your example item is setup?

Based on the custom fields from the viewer there is no mention of images or other content.

Can you goto Import WP > Exporters , and create an exporter for the demo property as xml, dont select any fields as this will output everything, and attach the xml file.

Based on the custom fields and lack of data in them it looks like all the content is stored in the post content, to test this theory could you please install the attached custom plugin and set the content field in your importer to:

[iwphd883_content()]

and limit your importer to 1 row and run.

Then view the imported content to see if content looks like the previously created demo content.

Yes it did imported EXACTLY the same contents of demo property but not the correct one and also the layout is distorted.

No, Not yet.

Sorry, if you are in a hurry i would recommend contacting codecanyon for a refund and trying a different importer plugin that will work with elementor and astra theme.

J

James replied Support Agent

2 weeks ago on October 5, 2024 at 10:56 am

Looking through your database, i have been able to install a local copy of elementor and astra theme, obviously i can t test if your styles are correct, but to replicate the demo page data i have had to set the following data (please also install and activate an updated version of the iwp-custom plugin.

What i have also found is you do not need to set the content field as this is not used by elementor.

Required custom fields (key: value):

_elementor_data: [iwphd883_cf("_elementor_data")]
_uag_page_assets: [iwphd883_cf("_uag_page_assets")]
_elementor_page_assets: [iwphd883_cf("_elementor_page_assets")]
_elementor_template_type: wp-post
_wp_page_template: elementor_header_footer
_elementor_css: [iwphd883_cf("_elementor_css")]
_uag_css_file_name: uag-css-3243.css
_elementor_edit_mode: builder

If you can create this importer setup and import (screenshot attached of test setup) 1 record, this single record should hopefully look like the demo property page with all the demo details?

Did as you mention but still this didn't imported the same template their are still glitches in the layout and I don't want the contents of demo property on each property import but I need their own details with just the same layout.

J

James replied Support Agent

The preivous examples that i had posted, have been trying to replicate the demo property ignorning, and only once this was successfuly replicated would we then have used each records data to populate each property.

Sorry, i do not think i can help you any further as you say it is still glitches, as my limited experience with elementor and astra theme have reached the limit, i would recommend you getting a refund of this plugin and trying an alternative method to import your blm files (as i am not able to issue a refund, but you can request one through codecanyon if required).

Could you tell me how can I only import every detail that is in the file shown the template preview? This includes the 360 tour as well
J

James replied Support Agent

2 weeks ago on October 6, 2024 at 12:57 pm

Based of the previous demo template from the last attached plugin, i have created a new panel for the importer (please remove all previously populated custom fields from the importer so that they do not override this panel when saved as shown in full screenshot), please install and activate the attached plugin (should overwrite the previous).

The property settings panel will by default appear with no fields, you will need to click on the "Enable fields" button at the bottom and select fields to enable (gallery, description, bedroom, bathrooms, garage, address).

If you are importing media from the zip file, remember to set the base url as iwp_zip (screenshot attached).

I could not find the 360 tour on the demo page, if you could add one along with any other missing data, and then re-export and attach your sql file i can get it added.

James replied Support Agent

The 360 tour would not be in your media library, as it depends on how your theme displays a 360 tour.

I would recommend finding a media tour url from your blm file (the one you have posted says: The 360° tour you requested is currently not available.), and trying to add it to your theme without the importer to see how it does it.

Hi,

Did the custom template https://helpdesk.importwp.com/ticket/16d594b0-6d9a-4e54-a744-dfe47b54cbb8/#reply-3363 not work?

If you apply for a refund you will only have the basic featured of the free version, e.g. not be able to import to custom post types, custom fields, custom taxonomies or schedule imports.

As before you need to create a demo property with all the items you require, and then inspect the custom fields to find what field need to be imported.

If you get stuck with this, please send me the theme files along with some pictures of the fields you want to be populated with which section of the import file.

If you click on the link above you'll see just at the bottom there's a demo tour section. How can I replace that with my 360 tour using the import? Suppose that I created exactly the same demo property because it's a pre built design in the theme

J

James replied Support Agent

5 days ago on October 17, 2024 at 3:47 pm

Edit the page and use the 360 tour url from your feed to create the demo property.

Then once you have eveything working in your demo property how you require, then we can see how it can be imported to.

SQ

Sheheryar replied

You're not getting my point. I'm saying is if I could have 360 tour link separately visible on the template preview for each property and if I just copy and paste the link instead of the demo property 360 tour will it work or not?

J

James replied Support Agent

5 days ago on October 17, 2024 at 7:36 pm

That is dependent on your theme, does it support your 360 tours, which is why you need to use one of the blm file 360 tour links as an example and get it working in your theme first without the importer, same with all your content.

Then you can get it all working in the importer using your fully populated example / demo property as a template to follow.

I have now fixed the floor plans, i installed and activated the attached plugin that added a function to populate the site plan title.

When running the import again i noticed that when i had setup the importer i used the AGENT_REF as the unique identifier, this turned out not to be unique as there are duplicate values e.g. MichaelJones_Zmjones0003499125  , is there another field in the blm file that can be used or a selection of multiple to identify each property so that the importer can check to see if it should insert or update an existing record?

J

James replied Support Agent

49 mins ago on October 22, 2024 at 8:52 pm

I also noticed an issue with the theme / importer which i have had to force images to be re-downloaded each time the importer is ran for the image_to_attach custom field (setting the custom field attachment setting to always download new files) .

This custom field is used for the "Property Media & Documents" section, its turns out for images to be displayed they have to have their parent id set to that of the the property id, so images cant be reused.
