Allow using GTIN as unique identifier

When configuring product importer for WooCommerce, only three fields are selectable as “Template field” by default:

– post_title
– post_status
– _sku

For products, it would make sense to allow matching by GTIN. Is it possible to configure import for that at the moment? If yes, how? If not, would you consider adding such option?

I tried setting the value of that field to _global_unique_id, but when I ran the import, all products failed with an error which said “No Unique fields present.”.

Hi Rimas,

I have updated the importwp-woocommerce plugin (version 2.3.7 should now be available) to allow the use of _global_unique_id as a unique identifier.

Hi James!

Thanks a lot! I've updated the plugin, but:

1. when I go to the permissions tab of my already created import config, I still see the same three fields available in the drop-down by default
2. the plugin still reports it's version as 2.3.6.

If you add the _global_unique_id as custom it should now work with 2.3.7.

Thanks James, that indeed seems to work!

Please consider adding it to the default list of template fields though.
