We have lots of issues with ImportWP adding data under the wrong areas: At the moment, we have VIN number showing as makes. How do we go about fixing this?

Hi,

For me to be able to look into this issue, i need you to confirm its not an issue with your data feed (possible data in the wrong column / node), by finding a csv/xml file that when imported produces this exact issue.

Once you have that please attach the xml/csv file and also attach your importer settings to this ticket by going to Tools > Import WP > Settings / Tools > Import / Export and select and export your importer as a JSON file.

What is the Inventory field, is this a taxonomy, custom field or something else?

I've attached the config file as well as the inventory file we upload.

Looking at your importer, there seems to be alot of acf fields, are you able to export and attach your acf field groups?

Can you also let me know which part of the importer relates to the issue Inventory (by make)?

I am unclear on what ACF means, but I think I could do what you are asking with a little more explanation/details?

ACF - Advanced custom fields, your importer suggests that you use the plugin https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/

There should be a menu item down the left hand sidebar in wordpress admin, named ACF, if you hover over it and click Tools > Export

I found it and exported twice. Once with what I think it 'just' the inventory page and once with all. I appreciate your help!

The specific issue here is that the MAKES filter is being populated by vin numbers, which should not be there.

Do you know which part of the importer is doing this?

Can you edit the taxonomy and remove the current vin numbers that have been added, then re-run the import to see if the vin numbers are re-added.

So, when you say edit the taxonomy, do you mean delete? I think I am starting to understand this, and the preview field looks right? It seems like it might be retaining old data?

I can go ahead and cleanup the VINs for a new file and re-upload.

I mean in your wordpress website, visit the make section something like /wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=ss_inventory_make&post_type=ss_inventory (screenshot attached of what this section looks like for me locally after the import)

And remove all the items that are not correct, e.g. all the vin numbers.

Hey James

Looking better now, thanks! I am working with the client to check the inventory is in fact up to date, because I honestly don't know, the filters look way better.
