Hi,

I really like the working of ImportWP Pro! Thanks for the plugin!
One question: I have a ‘member-area’ at the frontend of my website. Is it possible to put a link at the frontend so my members can download a CSV, generated by ImportWP? Or is the only way to export using the backend/wp-admin?

Thanks in advance,
regards,

Joost

Hi Joost,

I am glad that you like the plugin, sorry but there is no option to trigger an export from the front end, as the export process is handled in chunks to be able to handle large files and therefore would not be possible with just a link to the file.

If it was just the same export for everyone, you could schedule an export to run periodically, and then provide the members area a link to the download file (but thinking about this as the exporter writes to the output file there would be a chance that the file would be a partial export), if this is a viable option then i could possibly look at writing the export to a tmp file before overwriting the output file?
