Can’t import CPT with Jet Engine meta data

Import WP Addon - JetEngine Updated 3 weeks ago 9 Replies

Hello.

I’ve got a CPT called “Tokens” that I’ve added meta fields to using Jet Engine. I’m able to export all of the CPTs and meta fields just fine. But when I go to import and run it, the import hangs at 20 out of 80 records indefinitely.

I’ve exported the json and attached it here.

This is probably a red herring, but for context, this same CPT also has Pods fields of the same name associated with it. I’m in the process of migrating the CPT from Pods to JE. I have both add-ons installed right now. The plan is to uninstall Pods once I’ve confirmed my import flow works with JE data.

How might I troubleshoot this?

Hi Vince,

Can you export and attach your jet engine skin, so that i can test this locally, along with a copy of the csv file you are using?

Thanks Vince,

I have just tested this locally, and the import works if i remove the enabled ID field, and use a different unique identifier.

Can you confirm if the wordpress post ID's exist on the site you are importing too, and are the same as that of the site you have exported from? As wordpress post ID's are generated by wordpress and cant be created on an import as it is an autoincrementing number, so you would have to use a different unique identifier, does that make sense?

Indeed, the IDs do exist. Here's a quick screenshot of a sampling of them, all of which I can confirm are in the file. I should have mentioned it before, but I was able to export and import successfully previously when I was running on Pods alone. This is a new development, since I installed JetEngine. What else might we try? ~Vince

When you originally say it hangs at 20/80, if you look at the history are the first 20 imported? do they have correctly imported data for jet engine?

Does your server have any error logs that might show something?

Are you able to share a temporary login to the site?

I have modified and uploaded the importwp jet engine plugin to fix the error, and the import completed, with a few unique identifier fields missing for the last couple of rows.

Can you confirm?

I will apply my fix to the next release of importwp jet engine addon.

Thanks

It looks perfect to me, James. And yes, there were a few unique IDs missing. That was my fault. I added those manually via the WP UI after I sent you the CSV. Apologies. I've got a pretty massive (2k+ rows) CPT data backlog to get online and I was chomping at the bit to get rolling. I think this is good to ship! I'll continue to test and give you feedback. Thanks for the rapid support on this. Making a choice to use WordPress as a platform for my app, along with great plugins like yours, means that I'm beholden to a range of others to ensure my stuff all works as expected. It's a nice relief when my first interaction with a plugin support team is as pleasant as this one. Thanks again!Vince
