Hello!

I’m trying to update existing custom posts and the best unique identifier would be their IDs.

However, on Permissions tab, there’s no Template Field for ID. And when I go to “Select data from your import file” and select the ID, I got the error “Not enough permissions to create record”, because he is not linking the ID on the file to the post ID.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Fabio,

If you want to use the ID field as the unique identifier, then you need to enable the field in the "template fields" section, click the enable fields button at the bottom of the post fields section, and select ID.

With the field now enabled, populate the ID field with a column/node from your xml / csv field, once saved go to the permissions step and and choose "select a template field to be used as the unique identifier for each record", then select ID from the dropdown.

And then uncheck the create permission checkbox as you only want to update using the ID.
