Hi

I have exported my users from one site and want it to be imported in another site.

I have just created a normal export for users. I can see in the xml / json file that it contains informations.
But when i try to import it in a new site and i choose the file, it keeps saying : Invalid exporter config file.

Regards

J

Hi Brian,

When exporting to csv or xml, once the file has been exported, at the bottom of the exporter (shown in the attached screenshot is a "download importer config" link, click this and a json file will be generated.

This can then be used when creating an importer on another site via the option to "Upload importer config file from an exporter", this will generate the import fields used in your exporter.

Then you upload your xml/csv file to the importer on the select file step as normal, if you only want to import specific fields you can skip the "Upload importer config file from an exporter" option and instead just the "Manually configure the importer" option.

Hi James Thanks, it's working perfectly now :) Just one side question, how can I export / import the user's current password ? Regards Brian Den søn. 21. jul. 2024 kl. 16.21 skrev Import WP Helpdesk < support@helpdesk.importwp.com>: >

Hi Brian,

At the moment you can export the hashed password by typing user_pass as the export field.

However there is not an option to import the hashed user password, as it is currently expecting a plain text password.

I am currently adding an option for this and will update you once done.

Hi Brian,

Once you have exported the raw passwords, if you install and activate the attached plugin this will take the value entered under the importer user_pass template field and insert it directly as the password field without hashing it.

Hi Brian,

Just checking to see how you got on, i noticed that the original ticket had a img tag with a data element that was causing the page to crash, so you should be able to use the attachment form on the ticket now.

Thanks Brian,

If you switch the exporter to csv user_pass should work.

In the meantime i will look into getting this to work with the xml export.
